THE JOY OF MOVEMENT

Mindful movement is not a potion which cures all or brings about miracles..change takes hard work, commitment and patience. It takes time for transformation to be integrated in a persons life..the key is to follow the path with a sense of joy.The body is the divine temple for all that lies within, the physical benefits of movement…asana practise,Pilates,or any other mindful exercise whether it is a walk in the park or a step class where one is completely present in the moment are undoubtedly important, but the effects on the inner self cannot be measured. There is after all the old adage” a healthy body harbors a healthy mind”and in most revered texts of buddhism , hindu philosophy and I am certain others having a control over the mind is the ultimate goal.I CAN PERSONALLY SAY THAT I HAVE NEVER HAD OR TAUGHT A MOVEMENT PRACTICE WHERE I DID NOT LEARN SOMETHING NEW OR DID NOT FEEL THAT THIS WAS THE TAO….of course one has to learn to be open to such possibilities and integrate a sense of spirituality into everyday acts……..and if you do so the possibilities are infinite!

Harmony,is the ultimate reward for our hard work and patience.IT IS WHEN YOU WALK OUT OF A SESSION FEELING REJUVENATED,YET FEELING MUSCLES YOU HAD NOT FELT BEFORE AND THE DEPTH EACH BREATH BRINGS…also important is to remember that homeostasis is a moving target, hence what seems harmonising today may feel out of balance tomorrow, but if you learn to integrate the potential of the mind in every moment ,YOU WILL DISCOVER THE JOY IN MOVEMENT!

WE SHALL NOT CEASE FROM EXPLORATION,AND THE END OF EXPLORING WILL BE TO ARRIVE WHERE WE STARTED AND KNOW THE PLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME…..T.S.ELLIOT
